Rocca degli Ubaldini, Via Roma, 2, Sassocorvaro, Pesaro e Urbino, Italy

This tiny round towered fortress, sitting tortoise-like in Sassocorvaro's main square, was designed by the young Francesco di Giorgio Martini, who was to become one of Italy's finest military architects. The town's ruling Ubaldini family commissioned him to build it on the site of an older castle in 1475.
